The Governance Challenges of Climate Interventions
The risks of climate change and poorly governed deployment of climate intervention technologies are increasingly critical. Given a growing sense of desperation and urgency there are growing risks including lack of research as well as premature testing without public oversight.
ICFG’s approach puts policymakers’ needs at the centre. We listen to their concerns and questions in order to support the EU’s stated goal of promoting international talks to govern these powerful, transformational climate interventions.
Possibilities for making progress to governance are unclear and issues are complex. Policymakers and others need to come up to speed on what climate interventions are and where policy progress can be made.
